In 1959 and 1960, the Cincinnati Bearcats reached the Final Four. In 1961, under first-year head coach Ed Jucker, with a balanced attack from Tom Thacker, Bob Wiesenhahn, and Paul Hogue, they defeated Ohio State 70-65 in overtime to win their first national title. And the fanbase didn't have to wait long for another one. Led by Hogue, Thacker, and Ron Bonham, they beat the Buckeyes again in the national title game, 71-59.
